TeXchange 2017 brought top Israeli cyber innovation to the UK

TeXchange welcome reception

Top UK banks, insurers and telecom companies spent three days learning of the most advanced cyber security solutions from Israel as part of an effort by the British Government to protect companies and institutions from cyber attacks. Aviva Insurance, BT, Goldman Sachs, RBS, Visa and others hosted leading Israeli cyber security startups for a series of targeted events in London as part of the UK Israel Tech Hub’s TeXchange programme.

TeXchange, organised annually by the UK Israel Tech Hub, has already resulted in more than 20 signed UK-Israel partnership deals. In past years, TeXchange focused on retail-tech, fintech, smart mobility and other areas. Hundreds of UK companies and over 60 Israeli startups took part in TeXchange activities so far, with this year’s programme being the largest in terms of UK participation.

Mike Hodgson, Head of Innovation Engagement at BT, which is hosting TeXchange’s Cyber Innovation Showcase on 13 September, said: “BT is a world leader in cyber security, with a global team of dedicated security professionals working around the clock to protect BT, its corporate and consumer customers and the UK’s critical national infrastructure against emerging cyber threats. We are thrilled to be hosting an event which brings together a wide-ranging corporate audience and leading tech entrepreneurs to discuss the latest emerging technology innovations which will keep the UK ahead of the rapidly growing cyber-crime industry.”

Anthony Beilin, Head of Innovation at Aviva who hosted TeXchange’s Innovation Session, said: “In a digital first era Cyber has emerged as a key threat to corporates and consumers alike. At Aviva we are working on a cyber solution to help our customers prevent and protect themselves from emerging cyber threats and we remain open to working with the best in class emerging technologies and creating partnership with the world’s leading experts to drive value to our partners and help defy uncertainty. By partnering with the UK Israel Tech Hub for the Cyber TeXchange program, we will be bringing Aviva and our partners together with some of the world foremost experts and innovators in the cyber space to drive new opportunities”.
